EU Men to US Men Shoe Size Converter

Convert EU (Continental) men’s shoe sizes to US men’s sizes instantly. The two systems don’t line up with a single number you can subtract — Europe uses the Paris point (two-thirds of a centimetre) per size while the US uses the barleycorn (a third of an inch), so US sizes rise about 0.79 for every EU size. ABOUT MEN’S SHOE SIZES

Every shoe-size system is really a coded way of describing one thing — the length of your foot — but each country codes it differently, and not just by a simple multiplier. The UK and US systems come from the old English “barleycorn”: sizes go up by one-third of an inch (about 8.47 mm) each step, and US men’s sizes run exactly one number above UK sizes, so a UK 9 is a US 10. Continental Europe uses the Paris point instead, where each size is two-thirds of a centimetre, which is why EU numbers climb faster — roughly a size and a half for every UK size. Because these systems each have their own step size and their own starting point, converting between them is a straight-line formula with a slope and an offset, not a single ratio; this tool solves that formula in both directions. The simplest systems just state the foot length outright: Mondopoint (the international standard) and the Chinese and Korean systems use millimetres, while Japan uses centimetres, so a 270 mm foot is Mondopoint 270, Japan 27 and, in round numbers, US 10 / UK 9 / EU 43. Real shoes vary by brand and last shape, so treat the result as a starting point and round to the nearest half size — and if you can, measure your foot in millimetres, which every one of these systems is ultimately built on.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Roughly, an EU 43 is a US 10, an EU 42 is a US 9 and an EU 41 is a US 8. US sizes rise by about 0.79 for every full EU size, so the gap isn’t a fixed number — use the converter for the exact value.

  • EU 41 ≈ US 8.
  • EU 42 ≈ US 9.
  • EU 43 ≈ US 10.
  • EU 44 ≈ US 10.5.
