HOW TO USE

    Enter your recipe name and number of servings. These two fields determine the recipe context and how totals are divided per serving. The calculator comes pre-loaded with a chicken fried rice example so you can immediately see how it works — click 'Clear' to start your own recipe or 'Load example' to restore the demo.

    For each ingredient, type in the search box to find it in the database of 40+ common ingredients, or select from the dropdown. Once you pick an ingredient, its calorie density (kcal per 100g) appears automatically. Choose the right unit from the dropdown (g, kg, oz, lb, ml, L, cup, tbsp, tsp, fl oz) — all units are automatically converted to grams for the calculation.

    If your ingredient is not in the database — a branded product, packaged sauce, or unusual food — click 'Use custom kcal/100g value'. Enter the calories per 100g from the nutrition label, and the calculator will use that value for your entered weight. You can mix database ingredients and custom ingredients freely in the same recipe.

    Add as many rows as needed by clicking '+ Add ingredient'. Remove any row with the x button. The calorie contribution of each ingredient is shown inline as you enter values — colour-coded green (low cal) to red (high cal). The breakdown bar chart on the left shows which ingredients contribute most to total calories.

    Read your results on the right: calories per serving, protein/carbs/fat per serving, full recipe totals, macro donut chart, and a serving-size table showing calories at 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, and 3x servings. Use Share to copy the full recipe with all ingredients and nutrition values as text.
