An exchange rate is simply the price of one currency in terms of another, and unlike a length or weight it is not fixed — it moves continuously as banks and traders buy and sell. This converter uses the mid-market rate (also called the interbank or reference rate): the midpoint between the buy and sell prices, and the fairest single number for a conversion.
