HOW DAYS ALIVE IS COUNTED

Your days alive is the exact number of calendar days between your date of birth and the date you choose — counted day by day, so every 29 February you have lived through is included. That makes it more precise than multiplying your age in years by 365, which quietly drops a day for each leap year. Weeks are simply this day total divided by seven, and your years are the day total divided by 365.25, the average length of a year once leap days are shared across the calendar. The count rises by exactly one each day and never resets, which is what makes day-based milestones like 10,000 days so satisfying to track.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your number of days alive is the exact count of calendar days from your date of birth to today, including every leap day along the way. The calculator works it out by comparing the two dates rather than multiplying years by 365, so the total stays precise no matter how many 29 Februarys you have lived through. Enter your date of birth and the counter animates up to your exact total, which you can also check as of any past or future date.

  • It counts the real calendar days between your birth date and the target date.
  • Every leap-year 29 February in your lifetime is included.
  • Set the second date to today for your current total, or any date to see it then.
  • As a rough guide, days alive ≈ your age in years × 365.25.

NOTES & REFERENCES

  • Days are counted on the Gregorian calendar; a leap year is divisible by 4, except century years, which must be divisible by 400.
  • Years shown are the day total divided by 365.25, the average year length including leap days.
  • Milestones are round-number day counts (such as 10,000 or 20,000 days) offered as points to celebrate — not predictions of any kind.
  • Weekday and weekend counts are exact over the chosen date range and assume a birth time of midnight.
