HOW TO USE

  1. 1

Choose Cups → Grams or Grams → Cups. Select your butter type: solid US sticks (USDA standard 113g/stick), melted, softened/creamed, ghee, coconut oil, or margarine. Each state has a slightly different density — melted butter is about 5% less dense than solid.

  2. 2

For cups mode: enter any decimal or use cup fraction presets (1 tsp through 2 cups), or tap a US stick preset (¼ stick through 4 sticks) which auto-fills the cup equivalent. For grams mode: type any gram value or tap stick presets (28g, 57g, 85g, 113g, 170g, 226g, 339g, 452g). The result shows grams, sticks, oz, and tbsp simultaneously.

  3. 3

The formula is always shown: cups × 236.6 ml/cup × density g/ml = grams. The stick visualiser shows filled black rectangles for whole sticks and a partial bar for fractions. Key note: solid vs melted butter measure differently — if a recipe says 1 cup melted butter, melt first then measure, don't melt 1 cup of solid butter.

💡 Solid vs melted: 1 cup solid butter = 226g, but 1 cup melted butter = 205g. If a recipe specifies melted, measure after melting — don't melt 1 cup solid and use that volume.
